Repeated units

Duplex, townhome and multi-family.

Party walls, fire separations and repeated units, where a few millimetres of drift compounds all the way down the row.

How we work

Error does not stay put on a repeated build.

On a single house a small deviation is a small deviation. On a row of townhomes it accumulates. Set the first unit a few millimetres out and by the eighth you have a problem that shows up in every trade behind you, from cabinets that will not sit to a roofline that reads wrong from the street.

So multi family work gets laid out from control lines rather than measured off the unit before it. Party walls and fire separations get built to the assembly on the drawings rather than to something close to it, because those are inspected and they are not the place to improvise. It is slower at the start and faster everywhere after.

Party wallsBuilt to the rated assembly on the drawings, not an approximation of it.
Fire separationsDetailed properly because these get inspected and they matter.
Repeated unit layoutSet off control lines so error does not accumulate down the row.
Floor systems and beamsCarried through consistently across every unit in the block.
Stairs and openingsConsistent rise and consistent rough openings, unit to unit.
Trusses and sheathingSet, braced and closed in across the whole structure.
Questions

Multi-family questions.

Yes, and they get built to the rated assembly shown on the drawings rather than to something similar. These are inspected, and a separation that does not match the spec is a problem that surfaces at the worst possible point in a build schedule.

By laying out from control lines rather than measuring off the previous unit. Measuring unit to unit compounds small errors down the row, so by the last one you have drift that every trade behind you inherits and nobody can fix cheaply.

Duplexes, townhome rows and multi family blocks are all regular work. We are equipped for demanding builds rather than only straightforward single family projects, and we will tell you honestly at quoting stage if a job is outside what our crews should take on.

That is the point of quoting it properly first. We look at scope, spans and crew availability before committing to dates, then tell you early if something on site changes the timeline rather than letting the schedule quietly slip past you.
